Many providers advertise zero fees but add a margin to the exchange rate. Compare their rate with the mid-market rate shown on a neutral currency site.
Check the total cost
Add up transfer fees, receiving-bank fees and rate margin. The total, not the headline fee, is what you pay.
Compare speed and limits
Cheaper options can take days. Confirm delivery time and any sending limits before you commit.
Verify the provider
Use a service regulated in your country, and never send money to someone you have not verified.
